They used to charge for parking, but not any more. You'd pay $10 if you didn't fuel then they gave you a $10 coupon to use in the store or restaurant. I'm glad they stopped doing that. No blue beacon. Pretty decent buffet. Video arcade. Pool table. Movie theater. Massage parlor. Nice store. Nice people. Great place to park on the weekends.
Some people may remember you used to be able to park on the hill leading up to the Petro but that has since been blocked off.
Just be careful in the parking lot. The back side of it is used by a CDL school so there may be up to 3 trucks doing backing maneuvers or a few bobtails racing around the lot practicing their up shifting and down shifting. Shout some encouraging words like "grind it 'til you find it!" or "you're over-correcting!" -
That one I rarely stopped at. Too much a pain jumping off and on at. I usually stopped on I-80 both ways. Though I like Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, I like it better behind me.

It has new owners and they are in the process of redoing the place, the oriental lady's are gone, the store is almost empty, due to rearranging, they have the keypads on the showerdoors now just not tied to the network yet, it was time that they did something it was really bad

It's my favorite truck stop in the area and one of 2 in the area, I wish they bring the Asian lady back she can give a mean massage!, also the employees are nice and the movie theater has good and new movies. Plenty of truck parking space

not many truck washes in that whole end of the world. I left Edison nj bound for baldwinsville ny bud plant and never saw a washout till i got to liverpool ny and it was a small operation but the 2 brothers that owned it were nice and did a good job. The computer forklifts at the bud plant were happy

Is the hair stylist still there?

After the #### job they did of loading me overweight last Saturday and then screwing up the reload too I was hoping I'd see those computerized dummies freak out and start spinning in circles and crashing into each other lol
I'll take that petro over the pilot any day of the week. The pain getting off and on there pales in comparison to trying to get in and out of the pilot at the 175....much less trying to find a spot or park there. I've never had a problem finding parking at that petro even late night. They never have my smokes though....just as well they're so expensive up there.....and is fun to watch the students struggling around the parking lot if you get there early enough lol -
Here's the scoop on the Petro in Avoca (Scranton). The previous owners refused to update the property after repeated requests from Corporate. Finally corporate came in, voided the franchise agreement with the previous owners and took the place back over. They will be redoing the entire place over the summer. The previous owners also are the franchisee's of the Petro in Bordentown and have run that place into the ground since it was built.
They were closed for a day last week waiting on the new Certificate of Occupancy and Tax permits to be transfered into corporates name. While they were closed they were restripping the lot, and doing other things. The first thing they did was throw out the Massage joint, Tattoo shop, and hair cutter. From what I have heard from my favorite waitress there, who I might add has been there for 14 years, is that when it's all done it will be like brand new. -
When it was first built, it was one of my favorite places to stop, especially a few years ago when i used to hang around there with a couple friends of mine(desiree and jess, they operated the trucker's choice booth there, really miss those two deeply),but in last few years it turned into a dump. Charged for parking, showers falling apart to the point where a bangkok slum wouldve been preferable, a lot of the good people that were there in the beginning were replaced by incomptents. Im hoping the new owners do a good job restoring the place.
