I do like the airride on the reefers as well as the airslide tandems.....also the trailers lower when you hit the park brake so it takes a little getting used too...(the trailers also have a floating feeling from time to time)......
the T/k reefers are actually not too loud...they only jolted me awake once earlier in the week..now I am used to it..and I really like the noise to lull me to sleep LOL....
Had a short haul today..and I am glad I left gary this morning when I did otherwise I would not have made the shipper on time...294 and 290 were both parking lots because of construction....the shipper loaded me quickly and I bebopped on down to Romeoville to deliver (I did say short hop)....the cons took FOREVER to unload 6 (yes 6) pallets of frozen off of me.....got to bs with a couple other Reefer fleet drivers and they said my FM will run me hard its just he was heading out for a long weekend (I am guessing we only have 3 or 4 reefer FMs)...they tried to tack on another short hop and I raised a small stink about it so they took it off of me and gave me a Hot Load(of frozen) to PA that needs to be there by tomorrow the earlier the better......

I have noticed too I think we have more reefer freight than we have reefer drivers...cause there are a lot of Flatbedders grabbing empty and loaded reefers in Gary and heading out the gate (noticed it too in Marshfield)...so thats cool..i don't mind getting a relayed load from a flatbedder cause I know I will make weight on my non flatbed truck...LOL
-
I have been noticing that too lately. I have not had the (mis)fortune of hauling one lately, but I have seen numerous drivers that are. Interesting developments of late.

Must be a shortage of Reefer drivers big time if Flatbedders are hauling some Reefer. Will keep posted though and see if you manage to talk me into Reefers...Although would hate to change FM.

I know a lot of people, friendly, not so friendly, and police, that would love to know where we are hauling all this reefer to...

Right now I'm set to begin Phase 1 in Appleton June 11th with Dry Van. I'm considering switching to Reefer. Sounds like there may be a real need there. I've been a very early morning person for decades so not sure the night deliveries would be so bad. I get up around 4 or 4:30 as it is.

There was a voice mail message a couple weeks ago asking drivers to consider reefer.
