Good night from...

Spent last night at the Oasis ts in MO on I-44 somewhere. No internet or cell signal but great ribeye steak. Now at a rest stop on I-35 in TX I think near Belton. Ran into a closed freeway (construction) a few miles north of here with the sign a mile from where it was closed and went 11 minutes over on my drive time. The QC red light is continuously blinking as if to say, "bad, bad, bad..." I'll be in Harlingen a half day early but the BOL says, "Heat sensitive material. Unload ASAP", so I'll be calling and trying to get rid of this when I get there tomorrow instead of waiting until 6am Friday.

Going to look up details of the HOS Safe Haven exception so I can defend myself in the morning when my DM starts barking.

Good news! No log violation last night. DM was cool with explanation and added it to my drive line flag for me. She basically said, "S*** happens." I like that gal!

In McAllen, TX at the J on 281. I was able to unload this afternoon in Harlingen and got a pplan picking up here going to Alcoa (Knoxville area), TN. Wonder if it's aluminum scrap???? This is the third load in a month that requires a CB radio. What do the drivers who insist CBs are worthless do when they are required to check in with the customer by CB?

Somewhere west of Weatherford, TX. Pulled into a picnic area with 8 mins left on the 14, but still over 1 on drive line. Was not going to push it. Safety would have probably just told me, should have planned better. I like my -14 analysis rating. My so called load this morning was one that was cancelled some time back. Still another load going to Memphis for tomorrow evening. A drop appt. That really makes no sense. It was originally set for Sun at 2130. Able to get it pushed up to Fri. Now lets watch Memphis mess around with getting me home to Columbus on Monday. Any bets that there will not be a load until Sunday???
