1. I'm not a truck driver, I drive a truck and that's my job.
2. There's nothing wrong with hard work and a good paycheck.
3. Embarrassed? No. I like to think of myself as funny, somewhat polite, and fairly articulate. Most truck drivers aren't ignorant slobs, they're just guys making a living.
4. I'm pretty #### proud of what I do and what I've accomplished in life.
5. If a woman turned her nose up to me because of what I do for a living I'd tell her to pound sand. My wife has a masters degree, a six figure salary, and she beautiful on top of that. So it doesn't matter what you do for a living, what matters is who you are.
6. You might try shutting off the TV and computer and try reading a little classic literature, it got me a lot farther then talking about gear jamming with the ladies.
Are you embarassed to be a truck driver

I'm embarrassed and ashamed when I can't pay my bills or buy my kids the needful things. If you want to embarrass yourself go stand in the unemployment line. It is more embarrassing to have to pull up 3 times when docking than it is to step out of the truck in front of a girl who thinks me a low-life. Remember that a woman is just a man without the testosterone(d) appendages, (and the magic potion estrogen sprinkled liberally), subject to the same biases and prejudices as her father, and the same superstitions as her mother.
I worked construction for years. I made the same amount each week as I'm making now and yet my clothes are clean and not worn out, my back is actually healing and at the end of the day, I have a sense of accomplishment.Last edited: May 11, 2012

Nicely said
I was in the army for six years, did car sales/racing engine sales, international car/boat export, data entry, owned/ran a restaurant... finally I had enough of all that (and I'm very young still ), think it was a lot more stress than driving. I enjoy driving, seeing the country and every state... it relaxes me somehow. Yes its stressful at times just like any other job, but so far I'm happier then I was at any other job before... and not embarrassed.PayCheck and FloTheWaitress Thank this. -
