I'm sure he meant me, but...
ONCE AGAIN, LIKE SCOOTER...MY MILES HAVE BEEN LIKE THIS SINCE DAY ONE.
I only started training towards the end of the year. If anything I get more by myself, because I average 59+mph for the week, whereas a student slows me down, By myself I drop things so early it's ridiculous, and pick up and extra 3-4 loads a month because of it. It's hard to push a n00b half as hard as I run, AND teach them at the same time

IF YOUR MILES ARE BELOW WHAT YOU THINK THEY SHOULD BE, YOU ASK THEM TO CORRECT, THEY DO THEN FALL BACK OFF, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Remember Plat, when you take home time, you usually request VERY specific dates (trips, family gatherings etc) which means they HAVE TO get you home THEN...which means your miles will suffer leading up to that time off. You tend to get short loops and such to keep you in your home area, to ensure they get you home when needed. This will GREATLY affect your miles. I no longer actually live in the May hiring area, and as such, it sometimes proves difficult to get me home...therefor, I kist don't go home! lol
When/where you take hometime has an effect on things as well. I know you have issues with miles upon returning from hometime.

Honestly, we all like you, and support you, and feel for your situation; but you are either far too patient, or bipolar :biggrin_25526:
One week, May sucks, because your miles are bed, then 2 weeks of good miles, and you want to send them Christmas cards. Your averages are VERY low, and I know we have discussed your financial loss(es) from trucking. If I were given your situation at May, I would have left for greener pastures long ago.
Even you have stated on here several times, everyone's experience varies, and not every company is for everybody.

Okay. Danny is pretty cool. I think that just shaking things up a bit might help.

I just got 2500 miles this past week. I had some stupid issue with a shipper they put the wrong pallet on my truck and had to turn around and go back. I almost lost this load. I lost two hours drive time and missed 3 appointment changes trying to accomidate my driving schedule. Hats off to my terminal dms for their efforts. I finally make it to Layton to get truck serviced I am 10k past due. Layton mechanics are awesome. They took their time and found some broken welds near the axel and drive shaft. You can't tell with trailer on. The bad thing is I had appointment at 3pm so now it was 5 pm. They are going home for day now stuck over night.

Next day, while waiting for my repairs I discover the most "different" drivers happen to be in Layton. I am sitting in drive lounge using lap top when dumb dumb 1, wants to tell us about military training. We are watching history channel. And this guy is wearing pink and orange. I totally ignore anyone who likes to talk in the middle of a program and I am not their for making a jack ### of myself. Later same guy comes in and asks in middle of show "why do they have this tv behind a enclosure and not the others?" Really? Really? This guy is out of my terminal too. This guy has no respect for privacy and obviously bored and lonely. Dude, I don't care about your life story. Not verbally anyway. My truck gets complete and I go to the fuel pump I recognize a guy trying to get a little extra attention to himself. He is wearing a fishing shirt and shorts and white socks and appears leather sandals enclosed like he is going sailing. Yes, sailing. He drives one if the new petes that has a mid roof. He has a little extra pep in his step and was making himself too noticeable. Again dumb dumb 2, I don't care. This guy was also dying to strike up a conversation.

After fueling, I park real quick and grab some tacos from our May days appreciation. I sit to the left table of main entrance. I recognize a driver walking out we chatted before at a shipper. I briefly spoke with him about 3 ft apart. I advised him I am going on vacation this trip south America as he said he enjoys trips out of the country. As we are chatting dumb dumb 1 appears from inside the door way about 10 feet away and yells " where ya going?" Wow, your true steering wheel holder. In no way was I trying to advertise, offend or display my personal info. You are a jack ### and if the office lady was not there I would of locked your heels. When I see you in person its coming. I have nothing to hide. I plan to retire in south America. It's been my plan for last 4 years. I been there already and made friends there and had a girl friend at one time. I like to put my info here, but not to tell the world. Obviously this steering wheel holder is not on this board, not to be confused with ours. How irresponsible can someone be, what a nosey guy. I will put this guy in his place. Pink shirt orange hat or vise versa out of Pcola and he has a female dm. Again not the one on this board. Anyway, I can't wait for my vacation. I am way past due. Idiots like yesterday in Layton scare me. This is why I refuse to hang out in truckstops. I park in rest areas first, then stop at t/s en route to shower and leave.

    Be safe,
    Plat

Ok, now I'm officially bothered. So far, last 3 checks have been 4,080 miles; best one being this last, 1,936 miles. And I'm 48 state! Went back and calculated my miles since Feb: 26,385 for almost 4 months. 7,036/mo avg. Taken one 4 day home time since the beginning of January. No wonder I'm not making a very big dent in my credit card debt!...

Gonna have to have a word with the higher-ups. This can't continue. I like May, but not for this small pay.:biggrin_25513: Need to start paying closer attention to the $$ side of things.

You are carbon copy of how I started. The first month was great over 3k miles a week then 1800 countless weeks. I am very happy w 3k or more. I am in business of making money nothing less. You need to talk to your terminal or find a better terminal to transfer too. Many have done it. Good luck.

Closing out the month this week I rolled with 2900 miles right before vacation. I think my concerns have been.answered. This month was rough. I had one 34 reset the whole month and ran and recycled all my hours off my 70. I have a lot to say but I am tired, and officially on vacation now. I hope the miles are there when I come back. If i am getting 2700 or more not much makes me happier. I ran two months straight.

    Later.
