05/10/2012 @2312: Currently, Indiana I-70 EB, MM 47/48. Semi on it's side blocking all lanes of traffic.
5/10/2012 2315 I-70EB closed at US231. Exit 41 -
Got loaded after about six hours - decided to stay and finish a break. 78840 GVW with low fuel.
So night dispatch is upset that "we didn't get all we expected."
You want me to run the load illegally???
(Dead silence)
Well then, you get what we can cram into the trailer, so be happy!!
Beaumont TX at the Petro for the "night." -
Hey SilentEagle, nice meeting you the other day, congrats again...on the new fridge! lol
@ Flying J In New Mexico now, got my ears lowered...onward to Arizona -
so much for The General coming to Orlando, his trainer decided to have the load re-powered, cause he doesn't wanna wait 24 hours to drop, so guess I won't see him till Thursday or Friday
-
I didn't see my husband except ONCE as they drove from OKC to Tulsa during his training until he was basically finished and headed for upgrade.
-
I knew it was gonna be tough to see him during his training, but to have him so close, and then his trainer change it..just frustrated. He will be home this week as his trainer is taking 10 days vacation.
-
Frustrating is not getting an answer from night dispatch when you are 60 miles from home, and have no choice to take a 34 reset. SIXTY MILES FROM HOME.
Frustrating is hubby driving through Tulsa with not enough time to stop and grab a sandwich w/ his family.
Frustrating is knowing you are supposed to be headed home, and your load assignment has you delivering 1300 miles from home on the day you are supposed to be home.
It's trucking. And it sucks. But it pays the bills. NEVER and I mean NEVER count on seeing him until you see the whites of his eyes. Otherwise you are setting yourself up for disappointment and heartbreak. Neither of which are conducive to keeping the home fires burning.general's wife Thanks this. -
Wise words of advice...We are new to this, and still learning the ins and outs. Thank you!!
