Fredneck, did you explore possible options available with Schneider other than the Wal*Mart dedicated account?
Would you recommend Schneider to someone just starting out?
If so, why?
If not, why not?

 

If you'd like to see home more then once a month and have no prior trucking credentials, Schneider is a good place to start. The trucks are dirty on the outside and if you slip-seat, almost as bad inside, but they'll train you were the cdl school left off and at least as is my experience, always nice to deal with, just don't expect to get rich.

I worked for them for a few years in several different divisions. It's a mixed bag with that outfit. I've had the good, the bad, and the ugly with them.

If I knew what I know now I would have done things differently, BUT it's not a terrible choice for a new driver.

You got a cdl, you got some experience,and a reference, hopefully you know what you want and how to get it. That's the 90% right there.

 

Schneider never singnals over truckers who pass them.they act like there better then everyone else with there 59 m.p.h. trucks..I had one of there drivers almost smash into me on the 401 in Canada..if I did not hammer my service brakes and veer into the no truck lane...it would of been catastrophic...ive met some pretty good snip drivers...it is always a different storywith them face to face..but inside there trucks...there snobs...I say.."dont throw stones I glass houses"..Schneider ...good day

 

schneider trucks go 60mph on cruise and 65 off. I was in the dallas terminal the other day, and it looked like ringling brothers, barnum and bailey. I mean it was a mixed bag of people.

 

Why do you need someone to signal you back over??

 

It's actually a company policy not to signal another truck over.

It has nothing to do with the drivers.
