Wondering About You Truckers' Previous Careers

A counselor...still do that but truckers are my patients lol

 

Was prior military before got into the truck.

 

I was a gearhead for thirty five years. The last five of those thirty five I got burned out with it. I went to work for a grant counter top shop and that went south with alot of other jobs. I didn't wont to go back to wren-chin so I decided to try the other end for a spell.
6 years in the Army turnin wrenches on everything from a 1/4 ton to 33 tons. If it had tracks or wheels I could fix it. Flow around in Helicopters (air Mobil unit) tried to work on them but they said h&ll no! Got out and worked a few different jobs and went back to wren-chin.

That's my storie and I'm stickin to it...

 

High School teacher for 14 years. College prof for 3 years.

 

12 years retail grocery
8 years fine dining waiter
4 years managing a Pizza Hut

 

8 years, 3 deployments active duty Army. 1.5 years as a student before I said screw this and went back to work.

 

Building contractor/carpenter/boat builder/blacksmith/old time fiddler...presently owner operator,home every night hauling for lumber mills in my area of Virginia..Parking truck in fall if all works as planned,and visiting family in Australia...

 

How are things in Shreveport these days? I was stationed at Barksdale AFB back in the early 80's.

 

Grew up framing houses, studied economics and business in school, then worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years as a general manager/trainer. Got into trucking almost by accident. Was tired of being responsible for 50 other people so I found a local trucking company that had a small school and in 6 weeks was on the road. 16 years later and I'm still going strong.

 

Line crew worker for the local water utility. operated vac trucks, jet trucks, and camera trucks as well as did line repairs ...was on call 24/7/365...yeehaw
