AT knows his stuff about Watkins-Shephard.
But he's still a screwball......
American-Trucker Thanks this. -
I see a lot of companies offering "no forced nyc", I was curious why people are so afraid to drop a load off or pick it up in nyc?
-
Lol
Lol
What do I say? I'm paying my frickin dues at swift, I'm leaving soon, got two offers on the table. -
Tight streets, low underpasses, higher level of idiots per capita....
NYC is a very old city, and not built to accommodate today's big trucks and 53' trailers. And plenty of the areas truckers usually go to in NYC (like the Hunts Point markets) have a very bad, well deserved reputation for being dangerous to truckers, although from what I understand it's been cleaned up considerably.
I hate going to NYC these days because getting in and out of the city can eat up an entire 14 hour shift if you get stuck in traffic. -
#5,#6,#7 are reasons why I'm leaving and also I'm getting 2000 miles weekly
Hasta la vista I will be an ex swifty -
What is your favorite city/route/side of the country to drive?
-
I don't much like any city anymore. Been doing this too long, and seen them all. I much prefer picking up and delivering in smaller communities. But I generally haul a flatbed, so I don't have the same issues as a van or reefer driver has to deal with.
Bear in mind, I started out pulling a van, and still do on occassion. Which is why I prefer my flatbeds....daveman520 Thanks this. -
Atlanta, Chicago, NYC, Detroit...they all suck. But the worst I've been in has got to be Pittsburgh!

Any particular reason why or same as above?Last edited by a moderator: May 13, 2012
