That's a great idea Elroy! We've been replacing them with the factory ones on our 12 Peterbilts. I was amazed when Quad City Peterbilt quoted me $75/ latch.

Yeah... and he was even nice enough to post a link. I ordered a couple and hope to get some time to replace both next weekend.
Thanks again Elroy! -
Yeah Paccar has sure been getting stupid with some of their prices here lately.Seems like if they can't sell new trucks they'll make their money off parts. More than once my local machine shop has fabricated some parts for 1/3 of the prices KW quotes. That or I get my plasma cutter and mig welder out and do it myselfGears Thanks this. -
I wish I could take credit for it but the previous owner had it done. It looks like he drilled the corners and cut it with a jig saw? The latch also looks like he bent it out a little to catch the lip. They hold tight don't rattle or anything nthe locks are siezed from not being lined. Had crossed my mind to order 2 more have them keyed to the same key and have them lockable.

I don't have keys to the ones I've got now, so locking isn't a big deal. If somebody wants to take my 1/2 gallon of oil, anti-freeze and window washer fluid, they must need it more than me!
Elroythekid Thanks this. -
We have had a few customers do the same thing with a universal latch ....
it's under $50 bux just takes some tinkering and your set....
The new trucks do not have the old crappy style latch .... -
Got my latches in the mail this past week and got them on this afternoon. No tinkering needed at all. I'll have to snap a couple pictures and post 'em up.

Have to have pictures!!!!!!!!!

Awesome looks good I may order new ones mine are really rusty and sticky!!
