I'd think pre egr's wouldn't cost anymore for parts would they? I'm estimating mine to be rebuild it. It looks like this: DDEC overhaul kit $3500
    new head $1800
    6 new injectors $1800
    bull gear $1200
new style valve cover $300 include bolts etc.
labor? I'm cheap but not easy !!!

I don't think it's hard to hit them numbers. My '02 387 had an inframe at the dealer on a cat c15 and it cost $24,000.

is that 02 an ISX or a n14 bbb? if it is an isx, remember there are 2 camshafts at about $1100 each, injectors are $400 each, and you got to pull the radiator cause thats has to be out of the way to pull the cams before you can pull the head so an isx can add up quick. put it this way, the company I work for last week I had $9000 in parts just on the overhead components and 1 cam on an isx, never pulled the head just rocker arms, 1 cam, 1 rocker shaft, 6 reman injectors, jake harness, 1 jake solenoid and some gaskets=$9000 parts alone plus my labor, about 26 hours, it adds up. so with that said if they have receipts to back it up, 31k isnt too far fetched, but $50k is a little more than I would pay because we havent talked about rearends/trans/clutch/rad/water pump/susp components, etc. just my .02 as a former driver, now full time mechanic.

Where are you at Dino? I use CIT but only Champaign. Avoid Bloomington.

Have you used Coile's in Saybrook?

Yes, ISX. I have been hearing numbers in the low 20's on a rebuild so was wondering if they did a bunch extra at $31. Will know more later this week as I get my hands on it.

But the more I think about it for the price I am looking at some in the low $30's expecting to rebuild in the future. It does have an APU so I will have to see what they offer me.

company discount from kw ft smith ar and cummins in ft smith, plus of course core charge. this engine was in a 2009 kw t660 with dpf. I hate these isx's but thats the majority of our fleet. and I would tke working on a pre 07 yellow motor any day of the week over 1 of these red
