Can you install cb radios one on top of the other I have a freight liner and would like to put in a second raidio one in the cubbyhole the other hanging below there would be about a 6" gap between them but only running one at a time can this be done or is it a no no even if only running one at a time ?

Ok I was told by a raidio shop not to do this because the rf would kill the raidio this didn't make much since because one raidio would be off

Do not connect the antenna to both radios.

Before they can be stacked they need to spend some time in a training bra......:biggrin_2556:

    Oh, sorry wrong section.

But it is possible to get RF interference between radios, my Icom 706 makes noise that I can hear on other radios around 147 in vhf. My Sirius receiver makes noise when only plugged in that messes with my dash AM receiver, and of course my inverter causes spotty problems with all of them. So if you have 2 or more radios it may be possible, especially if they are different brands or specs.

I keep a Cobra 29 on the dash mount in my Cascadia, and sometimes vice grip a Radio Shack mini CB on the mounting bracket on top of the Cobra. I keep one radio on 19 for traffic and the other on 15 for chatting with other company drivers. Seems to work just fine. I have separate antennas/coax for each radio. I use external speakers on both radios, also.

If you stack them, you should install an antenna switch to switch between your radios though.

I'm running a Connex 4300/300 on top of a 2970N2 with one antenna. Both have external speakers. A good quality antenna switch with a Wilson 5000 and NEVER have them both on at the same time.
So far, so good. 6 months of daily usage and NO issues.
