1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Let's face it, there are great trucking companies and horrible ones out there and it all depends on who you talk to that determines this. Maybe it was your own experience that drove you to your conclusion. With that being said, I am a recruiter for numerous carriers which I find to be very decent companies. Does any of them have drivers that were unsatisfied? Sure they do! Have they made some drivers happy and given them an opportunity to make a great deal of money? Of course they have! What's more is, most of the time, they do a good job of satisfying their drivers.

Unfortunately, many companies have done some bad things to ruin their reputation. There are still, however, a few good carriers out there. I know popular belief states that recruiters are liars, but they say the same thing about drivers and trucking companies. It is not all true. I am not a liar and I have dealt with drivers and companies that are also not liars. Unfortunately, a few rotten apples typically tends to spoil the whole bunch.

Now, with that being said, I have Regional, OTR and a few Dedicated positions available across the Midwest and Northeast. I also have some regional opportunites in the Tucson and Phoenix area. I work with a few small carriers and some large ones, as well. I have a great mix of opportunities available.

I am interested in talking to drivers that are looking for work or looking to change jobs. The drivers that I am able to assist will meet the following qualifications:

    6+ months OTR experience
No more than 1-2 tickets in the past 5 years
No more than 1-2 minor accidents in the past 5 years
    No Felonies Ever!
Ability to pass a drug test
Whether you are looking for better home-time, miles, stability or pay, I may have a solution to your problem. You will never know unless you call me. For those that have been burned by recruiters in the past and wish to classify them all the same, no offense, but I don't expect to hear from you. Do realize this, whatever route you decide to go, internal or external, a recruiter is just that, a recruiter.

For more information regarding the options available under my umbrella, please call me directly # 847-275-6779. I may not be able to help EVERY driver, but I will do my best to get you an opportunity that suits your needs. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY! :biggrin_25514:

No felonies ever?? Is this because everyone with a felony is a bad person,or is it because your insurance won't cover anyone with a felony because they think anyone with a mistake in their lives is a bad person?? To bad either case. I meet and exceed all your requirements, with the exception of the felony.Your loss.:biggrin_25522:

    Hey Mickster,
Just a note about insurance companies. I have been a truck insurance broker for 20 years. The insurance carriers do not normally ask if you are a convicted felon, they look mainly at your driving record and driving experience to determine if you qualify. You may consider buying your own truck and getting your own truck insurance. Just an idea :) Good luck to you!

If you ever had a felony you cannot enter Canada, even DUI or DWI at age 16.

Can you just not enter Canada driving a truck with a felony, or if you have a felony they will not grant entry??

Any felony and some misdemenors will bar you from entry into
Canada, unless you get an exemption from the Canadian Govt....

I have occasionally seen these 2 weeks on 1 week off kinds of driving jobs, but they come with X years of experience needed. I don't have any experience, so you may not be able to help me at all but if you know if any jobs that'll hire someone with no experience and it's not one of the year contract deals I'd like to hear about it.

If you know of a place that will hire with no experience and has a decent home time policy I'd be all over it. I am in the Dallas / Ft Worth area of Tx, and will e-mail whatever info will help

"Section 19(2)(a.1) of the Immigration Act of Canada states that persons convicted of an offence outside of Canada, that would be an offence under Canadian law, cannot be admitted to Canada. Criminally inadmissable persons can, however, apply for a special permission to enter Canada. This special permission is expressed by a Minister's Permit."

Any person living in the United States who possesses a criminal record and wishes to travel to Canada will need a Ministers Permit. This is valid up to one year. One may also apply for a Rehabilitation. This document is a permanent approval, and allows hassle free border crossing into Canada.
The Canadian Government will look at each application individually. They will consider the following factors:

    1) Nature of conviction
    2) Date of last conviction
    3) Sentencing
    4) Reasons for travel

A Ministers Permit may take up to 6 months for processing. A personal interview may be required at the port of entry nearest the applicant's residence.

Rehabilitation allows lifetime access into Canada. This document never needs to be renewed. A Ministers Permit and Rehabilitation does not permit one to work in Canada. These approvals allow visitation for a period up to 6 months at a time.

Interestingly enough, President Bush had to file for these papers as he has a DUI conviction. He can cross the border until 2004 according to his paper work.
