Since it seems like 6 out of every 7 threads is about "who gets more miles? W11 or 48?" I figured I'd start two separate threads about the miles for each side:

PLEASE JUST POST YOUR MILES, for comparison/education sake. Either a good/bad run, a good/bad week and/or month, and/or your monthly total/average.
(if you only had 1400 miles because you had to babysit a load, and then a flat tire, and breakdown made you wait, blah blah blah then go create a thread about it.)

I'd like to actually INFORM and COMPARE in here.

    Joker85 Thanks this.

These are my miles since the first of the year. Breakdowns, home time, sitting at shippers and all that good stuff. This is running the western 11.

    January - 6563
    February - 8985
    March - 5961
    April - 8632
    May
    5/1 - 1500
5/8 - 2700 miles up to last Tuesday.

Only one full week was with a student, and he quit at the end of the week. So I would say that this is a good representation of what you can expect solo week to week. This represents an average of 2020 miles a week after 17 weeks. I think it might get a little better as the summer comes to full swing, but I don't know.

Thanks, Dozzer! I appreciate your candid numbers! How much weight have you lost since starting? I know I couldn't even afford to eat tuna with those miles lol
Why are you sticking it out this long? (why not 48?) I have never not had a 10k month!

I have a sugar momma and don't need all those miles. Truthfully, don't know. I keep thinking it will get better as I get better. I am already dispatched out of P-cola so it would not be much of a jump to go 48. I know my DM wants me to very badly. She has me pull reefer out here quite frequently. Othello - Burley, Othello - Denver, Burley - Bakersfield. Not like I don't know what the reefer sounds like. Nicer trailers for the most part also. Plus I'd probably get more showers in clean facilities. Perhaps after my next home time. It would be nice to know I'd get 2500 a week minimum rather than 1300 a week minimum. It almost hurts to hear myself think that. Nope, it does hurt. Wow....

So how many western 11 guys are on this forum? It's looking a bit like only myself and one other. If your here, post up guys. Help people make an informed decision rather than throwing a dart and heading to what they hit.

Goes to my point the other day, relatively few May drivers even know about this forum, let alone would ever post their miles here if they did ;-)

I asked the W11 guy I met yesterday (the one WISELY going 48 ) and he never knew this board existed.

You do know the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result, right?

Look, May has ~1000 drivers, P-Cola has 180+ drivers, and they only have 1-3 new hires/weekly. Brooks has like 6-10/wk, Denver 3-5, etc...W11 retention is horrible. Now, why do you think that is?

I really wish it would have worked out for you to come out and train with me Dozzer, we would have never had these converastions on here, you would've gone 48 from the start.

To what Scooter said about the number of people on the board, keep in mind what internet boards are like as well. If you have a good experience at a restaurant...THAT'S IT! you had a good experience, you EXPECT that.
But, if you have a bad experience, you will tell EVERYONE who will listen for weeks on end. The internet is the same way. Nobody gets on to tell about how good things are, you just expect that. But, if things are bad...

Same reason I stopped posting on here...ALL negative, and I was sick of being dismissed as full of it because of my GOOD experience. I hate that I feel I need to defend May, but they look out for me, so I feel obligated to do the same.

Just a snapshot from my QC, 10 days in...(remember the QC reset at midnight 05/05/12) Two of those days I drove less than 200 miles(1 from dropping a day early, and 1 from waiting on a repower) and I'll have another 1000 on it when I unload Thursday and then go home.

Won't bother taking a snapshot of my Qualcomm. However, I'm currently at 7,080 miles run since 1st of month.

I'm killing JUSTAWHEELHOLDER on mpg average, I'm currently at 7.9 miles per gallon since last Qualcomm reset and I haven't hauled anything less than 43,000 lbs ;-)

Shouldn't I get a raise for that? LOL

Going to back to arrive and try to drop or swap, my persistence did pay off, I get to drop 24 hrs early afterall, drop & hook empty now instead of live unload, then grab load heading out to PA.

Across WY 3x, with a student driving, who just doesn't get the shifting - RPM correlation lol

What is the longest possible run for a W11? 1500 miles?
And how often do those come around? I'd say 70% of my runs are in the 1300-1800 range, 15% 2000+ and 15% under 1000, and I always have a preplan just about as soon as I start those 'short' sub 1k runs

I don't think we'll get a whole lot of W11 guys posting in here...they can't afford to buy a computer lol
