Well I made it through day 2 of orientation. Day 1 looked at my truck, the one I had picked out will not be here this week so I ended up with a white 2011, but it's pre def and has a cummins in it. Today we met with Lance and went over operations, then elogs and hazmat this afternoon. Tomorrow is road test, a little nervous about that because I have never driven a 13 speed, so that may be interesting lol. So far everyone seems top notch. Oh this week there are 6 of us and 4 are company drivers.

drive it like a 9 spd, you'll be fine.

-
Cool deal!
-
you really don't NEED to split this transmission unless you are really pushing for mileage, pulling hills or else REALLY heavy to gross weight.
-
Ok thanks...I will keep that in mind..It will be a little different
-
top end splits can be hard to hit if you aren't used to them. Just run it as a 9 for your road test and then practice with it.
It comes rather easy after a while. Haven't seen one in 18 years and would likely not hit the splits right out of the box either now.
Mostly been driving 9's and 10 speeds lately. -
Yeah me to. hopefully all will be good.

No worries on the road test. If you're with david tell him and he will give you a crash course in the 13. He helped me a lot on how to get the fuel mileage out of it. He really knows it well. And he's not gonna gig you for the shifting on it.

Yeah I already gave him the heads up on it. They all seem like good people here for sure.madaxeman Thanks this.
