Ditto on hometime @ Prime. 5-8 weeks. Got home for a 10 hour break Christmas night. I don't live in BFE, I live in Indy.

Well road test was pretty much a breeze. It wasn't as bad as I thought, but still have to work on progressive shifting. Get our fuel cards tomorrow and meet our dispatcher and after that who knows where the road may lead. All in all a pretty good day.

Good deal you guys might end up with loads tomorrow afternoon but most likely it'll be friday. They try and route you through the house on the first load to pick up the rest of your stuff. Also before you leave out go over the truck with a fine tooth comb to make sure they repaired everything you wrote up and to look for anything you might have missed.

    Drifter42 Thanks this.

do people still struggle that much with Progressive shifting? That was beat into me by my first trainer in 91 in an old 90 Mack Ch613 with a 9 spd.

You know I've met people who've never even heard of it before. But some have and just never really try all that hard. I always drove a company truck the way I would my own. Well except that I had to idle for heat and ac at my last company. Which knowing how much fuel that burns I wouldn't do on my own dime.

I don't like idling a truck from the wet-stacking that it causes as well as washing the cylinders and loading the oil with raw diesel.

Just too hard mechanically on the engine.

if I MUST idle, I set it to 1000-1100 RPM at least. Most don't.

Yeah that was the worst part some of their trucks you couldn't bump the rpms up. Mine you could. But because of that my average mpg was only 5.2 I heard they finally started buying apus after I left.

JBS Carriers not a terrible company but way to much office politics there.
