What you mean to say is that anyone who complains is already overqualified for the trucking industry.

 

It seems I am always reading bad things reported about Swift. Yet, there are some Swift drivers and former Swift drivers that will say good things about the company overall. I hope that whoever I drive for should I eventually become a driver - that I can say positive things about that company. Yes, I may be naive since I'm not yet in the business, but I do drive everyday in my 4-wheeler and see many, many trucks on the road - and mostly the mega-carriers. SOMETHING has to be positive about trucking to keep people in the business - and not just a paycheck. (Although that is the primary reason many drive in the first place.)

 

I lasted two days in orientation before i walked away from swift, lies and bs. I about choked out the orientation dude, havent been treated like a child like i was for this company. This was at the edwardsville shop, in my short time on the road, swift ans cr england drivers are the worst

 

Can you share what they said (lied & BS) that triggered your decision to move on?

 

i was led to beleive i was hired on for a regional dedicated route, then come orientation, the new hire babysitter(DM) had no record of me being hired on for that. then another gentlemen from the same class called his recruiter, as he was interested in what i was as well, was told they are not hiring for the route and will not be for another 6 months at least, ontop of that all new hires for that perticular route, where sent to another state/terminal for thier orientation and not to the one i was at.

was also lied to about being paid for orientation, which i was not being paid for. thier are several other things that this company does not tell you about, when you first hire on. but if you talk to drivers going thru thier school and drivers coming in for up training and re training.

all in all, thier are better companies out there then swift, in my opinion and thier are far worse as well. but if they have what you want to do.... have at it.
