    Have had a rough past couple of weeks. Had to get a new notebook computer, so I have some catching up to do. From Tx, I picked up a load going to my home town of Wentzville to be home over the weekend. Once I delivered that load, was giving a Trenton, IL to St. Joseph, MO run.

    I had to take some time off due to a family issue. My last two runs were from KC to Holland, OH. From there, I deadheaded to New Concord, OH and picked up a load going to Fulton, MO.

    Had a preplan from there picking up at Mt. Sterling, IL going to Ardmore, OK. Bad news with this load. Got here early so I could have full hrs to run once I picked up, but was told this morning that the load has been cancelled. Always nice to sit at a customer over 16 hrs and get nothing out of it. Now I sit, waiting on a preplan.

    We were told today that company guys get like $75 for layover I believe.

    It was $50 for 0-24 hrs...and 12 hr increments $25.

    Since the first load canceled, and I was early for the next load, no layover pay.

    Wow yeah that sucks. Then again I worked for a company that didn't pay that or detention pay either. And it was reefer company. So I got screwed a lot.

    Today was my last day with ACT. I took a dedicated run with Ceva Logistics. Out and back. Home every night and weekends off. Good money. Couldn't turn it down. I did enjoy my time with ACT. I would highly recommend them as a company.
