I am thinking of Stevens. Have pre hire already. I graduate first of June from Roadmaster trucking school. My question is I'm from southeast corner of Alabama where would I park my truck if I went to Stevens.

Company drivers are required to park their trucks at pre approved locations. Most commonly this is a Kenworth or Peterbilt dealer or Thermo King dealer.
If there isn't a dealer close to your home, then Stevens will work with you in finding a place as close to home as possible.
I doubt you'd have a problem finding a dealer in your neck of the woods, tho.

I have a question if you don't mind, I have searched their website and I can't seem to find anything about their Hire areas. I live in Maryland and would like to know if they hire out of this state. Thanks in advance!

I wouldnt think that would be a problem, but you would really have to call and ask a recruiter. They dont post the hiring areas because it does change. Example ... sometimes they hire out of parts of Florida, and other times they dont. It just depends on what they need. Sorry.

I am from Delaware and currently in School. Pretty much coming from the south or west one has to pass through MD to get to DE so I would think your location is not an issue.

    Hi!
Just a couple more questions if you don't mind. I am 90% sure I am gonna choose Stevens but would like to know:

    1. I have been studying the website for cdl trainees and want to make sure this is right. Qoute from website - "Drivers will be fully reimbursed for their CDL training costs, providing that they remain as an OTR driver with Stevens Transport for the length of their loan term. Reimbursement will commence once the loan term is completed and will occur in increments." So am I reading this correctly I will not start getting reimbursed until I have actually paid off the school loan in full? I just tacked on another $160.00 per month and the loan is for 36 months. So for me that would mean in 3 years they will start to reimburse me, that does not sound good to me at all. I am a little disgruntled to begin with since I really do not need this training in the first place but since my OTR is not recent I have no choice if I want to get back on the road again. (Please keep in mind: I am not blaming anyone else but myself)

    2. If I do go with Stevens, I will definitely be doing the Alliance leasing when my probation is up. My current employer has plenty of room to park a truck and trailer and it is fenced and gated with a pass code, right now we currently have 150 coach buses parked on the lot and still have room for 300 more. Would I be able to park the rig there since there are no Kenworth, Peterbilt, Cummins Dealers in the area where I live.

    Thanks in advance:biggrin_25519:

question 1) the policy on that has changed several times in the past couiple of years. To get the proper and up to date answer you really need to ask your recruiter ... and get the answer in writing!

question 2) Once you go Alliance, you can park the rig anywhere you want. Before you go Alliance you would have to get it approved by Stevens and noone on this forum can say if it will be approved or not.

Corporal, You just put a big smile on my face Thank You:biggrin_25519: Just hearing that the policy has changed makes me happy. I'm not super worried about the parking I'm almost positive it would be approved since it is a secure lot. Thanks again for the reply
