Mine had that hiccup when I first bought the truck(it doesn't show it self bob tail). Replaced the turbo shortly after( along with other things) and the hiccup went away after replacing the turbo. A week or two later the hiccups come back and I've had shops look into it but they tell me everything is fine and I read this is a common problem in egr detroits so I give up and live with it. Fast forward a year and week later the turbo fails totally. Got the same readings you are getting about the VNT vanes not responding. Replaced the turbo and the hiccups are gone for about 2 months do far.

    Hi Hotshot,

There is only one solution for most EGR problems on older Engines.
Stop wast your hard earned money and take it to dieselspec.ca
they will take care of it.
