I need some advice from the people who have worked or work for these companies please. If you had the option which one would you choose and why ? Thank you in advance for any and all information.

Worked for conway... never got any work. Go for old dominion... There is plenty of work and they pull all their own freight, there is no sub-services that pull any of their freight. Also a union company as well. Also both companies have the trucks wired front to back with GPS and tracking devices, but everyone Ive spoken to from old dominion seems very happy and have a low turnover rate

I would rather work for Old D. In my town all they do is bump their dock. No dock work for them. They have dock guys.

The guy I spoke to told me they were. Maybe a just the one barn... but now that you mention it and looked it up you are correct they arent. But Id still rather work for them though, All you do is drive no dock work from what I believe. AT CWF you will spend more time on a forklift then you will driving and that goes for everybody there, not just the bottom guys

I worked for OD years ago.It was all bumping docks or drop and hook.
They were non union then and i believe they still are.

There you go, but its still weird the guy told me they were... whatever glad I got that corrected though. Bumping docks or drop and hook, thats good, we do that at YRC, we got a few accounts we drop and hook for p/d.

BEfore the change of operations we had something called velocity drivers, who did line-haul but would also work the dock so they can load their own trailers... they got rid of that

Still with my first thought though, go OD. Like I said they pull all their own freight like we do. There is no sub-services, that takes away from their workers...

Go to Old D, I read their forums and I doubt if Ive ever seen a complaint out of those suckers...lol. NIce equipment too and I'm pretty sure they are non- union.

No GPS in the con way trucks except the handheld, and you have to be logged in. Newer crashcadias are nice but have lane departure and the vorad sensor. Always have to adjust your following distance or it beeps like hell. Hope a car doesnt cut you off, or its applying the brakes. rides nice but i dont like em.

Conway trucks are pretty well maintained, PM's on schedule or they throw a fit. But unless you're running a meet, grab a forklift and a breaker packet. Thanks!.haha
