    Lol..if you ran 400-500 miles out of route expect next weeks paycheck to have some out of route miles deductions...that will drop that average

    less than 2800 miles with 450 out of route miles should not take 60+ hours, maybe 52. gps is not always best route, learn ur map. fuel and pti at same time, you will save 15 minutes a day, watch and make sure your logs match fuel and BOL's. some people (shippers/recievers) put times on it. if you have to move your fifth wheel, lower your landing gears to ground, use bungees to help keep doors on trailer from swinging around when backing in dock. they do come loose.

    Yup, agreed. I'm learning. A good portion of the out of route miles was to the shop to get equipment fixed, meet the owner to swap out a bad trailer, divert around a shut down interstate segment, drop a trailer at the yard so I could grab another load and the owner could deliver that one, etc. About 150 or so was entirely on me.

    I'm just happy to not have to worry about being paid by the mile.

    He's relatively new to the business, as am I. And after a week he's discovering that I don't sweat the small stuff; if I call him with a problem, it's NOT small stuff :)
