I wonder how strong it will be if you throw a 45,000 pound coil in the middle of it?

I have a friend who owned a 45' East and has had a 52,000 coil on it and been legal. I believe that he had a 9200 International with a 52" sleeper at the time.

I like the look of the http://www.fontainetrailer.com/trail...brid_flat.html

and I am looking to save some weight for sure, as with the Utility and my T600, I am at 32,500 full of fuel.

Just not sure if it would be best to go with a new or used one? Looking for advice on this as well.

Many of you on here has been where I am at and either bought new or used and I would like to hear what you have to say and why you did what you did.

I appreciate the advice so very much, as I WAS considering buying a Utility to save the money, but then got to thinking "You get what you pay for" and wanted to hear from everyone on here.

After hearing what you have said, I will for sure not think of buying a Utility!

The east is probably an all aluminum?

    The fontain is listed at 8,950 lbs that's a 48 x 102 combo

All aluminum is listed at 8,360 lbs and probably costs $8-10,000 more

WOW that is good for a combo for sure. I thought all combo's were heavy (10,000lbs) or more.

Depends on which all aluminum Revolution you buy. The Revolution 52 is rated for 52,000 in 4 foot and has 8 inch bottom flanges on the main beams. The Revolution 60 is rated for 60,000 pounds in 4 foot and has 11 inch bottom flanges on the main beams.
I ordered and bought the Revolution H, hydrid combo, almost two years ago. Very happy with it. I bought mine factory direct. A Revolution 52 would have been about $6,000 more, from the factory, for only a 600 pound savings. Not worth it to me.
I can't comment on the fuel savings, as my loads vary too much. Someone pulling the same thing, all the time, would be able to tell better.

I have a 2012 Revolution 52 and I LOVE IT!!!! With full tanks on a Western Star, my empty weight is 29,500#

It pulls very nice and I have not had any problems with flex or bending. I have ran a 48k load of plate dead-nutts center and it still had an arch in the floor.

I am renting mine from LS right now and honestly don't see a problem with the rental. I was able to get into a brand new trailer with $0 to me. I pay $155 week to them and they take care of everything including tires, repairs, ect ect... I could not have bought this trailer for those kind of payments. And the best part is if I want to go do something else such as RGN or Step I can just turn it in an rent one of those from them. I like not having to be tied down with a trailer and payment. Cuz if things really got bad and rates took a huge crap, i can just walk away.
