As a native Texan (from Houston and now in Austin) I can tell you that it will be a culture shock. There are a lot of people moving here from out of state and, at least here in Austin, apartments are few and far between and getting expensive (for Texas at least).

San Antonio has the tourist aspect which is fun I guess but I don't like the place enough to live there. However, you can get land cheap out in the country if you go away from the nicer, hilly places.

I have spent quite a bit of time in the northeast including VT and I can tell you that living in the country up there and living in the country down here are very different. I would live in a small town in VT but would never do it here, however that has more to do with my personal thoughts on a lot of stuff (politics, religion etc etc).

Good luck! I know there are a lot of natives who can't stand all the out of state people moving here. I guess I don't mind but the increased traffic and rents are getting on my nerves real quick! Luckily I plan on not having a place when I go OTR so I won't care anymore for a while!

well "down here" where I live (southern New England), you get what, a few yards of land with a house for the same price, and property taxes are at least $5,000 to $10,000 just to start!!:biggrin_25522:

    at least YOU HAVE LAND...LAND....LAND..!!!

    wanna trade?????:biggrin_255:

I love gardening, what a garden I could have with your land!!!:biggrin_2559:

I am looking to gross around $55,000 this year. I am home every weekend and it's nice equipment to run as well.

You can live in MN, ILL or MO rather easily to work for this company.

WI and IA would work as well if you lived in the right towns.

We spend a lot of time in Aurora ILL, Champaign ILL, Springfield MO, Minneapolis MN, Wausau WI areas and the roads in-between them.
