I hope to find a good man to truck with but as a passenger.
I have been involved with two truckers but could not go as I was working and taking care of kids, who are grown and on their own now.

I hope to help navigate, make lunches, laundry, keep him company, have adventures with him. I've talked in other forums before about how to handle needing to relieve yourself and gals suggested a 5 gal. pail with a garbage bag or a bucket of cat litter....neither are appealing. LOL

But as a passenger I know I'd feel bad knowing my partner was very tired or sick and he had to do all the driving. How would a driver feel having a passenger who doesn't drive?

I am looking forward to having my wife go with me on trips....

She doesn't drive nor do I expect her to. She's just along for the ride.

Hopefully being tired and bored won't lead to fighting. Best to feel as a team.
One thing is that sightseeing can't be done as you can't leave the load and most places don't let in big trucks. My friend say he was only able to wave at the Grand Canyon.

I have gotten to places like that and call Enterprise Rentals and they bring a car to you and pick it up.

The truck is then a camper for you to come back to and go back to the tourist things the next day.

I have the complete driver's manual and air brake books which I've read cover to cover. I was about to take lessons at a place up north from me where you get lodging and stay for a week of classroom and in-truck training, but my friend got sick and it was going to cost $4,000.00....over 10 years ago!

I am out of trucking right now. But I intend on getting back in shortly. I would LOVE to have some one on the road with me.
Yes my kids are all off to college, or at least that last one is on his way.

Many carriers don't allow passengers . Having an authorized passenger will get 1 CSA point . Also many customers won't allow non-CDL holders in the gate .

I asked about that and was told by last friend he didn't care he would do what he wanted and drive with me and drop me off before a dropoff then come get me.
I thought insurance would prevent it.

Insurance can't stop it, you can get in and go.
What they can do is deny any claim made should something go wrong.
Blink .... That's how long it takes for things to go horribly wrong..
