As long as you are in the right lane where you should be and not passing another truck at 35 MPH you probably won't get the call. I see trucks cut off 4 wheelers all the time merging left to get around a truck going 3 mph slower. There is usually a trigger point and its usually something aggressive.

To the OP don't let stupid drivers or poor management run you off! If the problems of driving on the road bother you that much then look for alternative types of driving. Work the docks,on site construction trucks, off road, forklift loading rigs, ect. That said, nothing pisses me off more than seeing a trucker driving dangerously. Yes I will call you in. We do not need bad drivers in trucks. How would you like some ####### trying to make a hood ornament out of your car with your family in it. I have also seen idiots in cars call a truck in when they were in the wrong. One of the only jobs that you have to work in an unsafe environment because people do not follow the rules. After you spend decades behind the wheel you realize that following the rules covers your as# when everything goes South and no one can point the finger at you including yourself. Killing people with a truck changes everything. Even when it isn't your fault.

I have had peolpe call on me and even call the cops and i'am just a smalll O/O. The funny part is on both ocassions my trucks were no where near where the people said i was and had prove. Have even had a couple call to get new windshields or paint jobs from a rock comeing up from the road. I just tell them to go pound sand or call the cops and the cops will not even bother with it. Most people just hate trucks and do what ever they can to make it hard on us. When i hauled for Waste Management the guy i ran with had a lady in CT call and say he ran her off the road but the part she forgot to add was she was comeing on from an entrance ramp and did not yield . I was behind him she had plenty of room just most likely got scared.

where was i last week..........ahh yes in virginia, north on I 81 at mm45 where they are doing the bridge work. signs on both sides of the interstate warn drivers 15 to 20 miles in advance about the closing that lies ahead.

i am behind someone who appears to not be paying attention to what is approaching them. i stay behind them, waiting on them to merge over, cuz i know as soon as i do it and get them halfway passed, they are going to floor it to cut me off.

to make a long story short, when i passed the car, i looked over and guess what..........the driver was texting. so i am now in the lane that is still open, and mr 4 wheeler is still pecking away. the sign says MERGE NOW and he is still in the lane that is closed. im peeking out my mirror to see him look up, realized the cones were about to be hit and he tried to move over only to find 3 or 4 more cars had filled the space behind me. this moron jams on the brakes and comes to a complete stop on the highway. i just laughed to myself and kept going.

the sad thing is he probably learned nothing and will probably do it again. i have seen more peeled back guardrails in the last 2 years than i can ever remember seeing. all from people swerving all over the road playing with the phone and running them over.

i had one call in on me 6 months or so ago for what he deemed was speeding. i had been trapped behind this old man for 25 miles coming through the gorge on I 40 from NC back to TN. he was in the right lane going maybe 30 miles an hour. it was one of those days you could not get anyone on the radio to see if anything was waiting around the corner for you. so i had to eat it and sit behind him. it took forever to get out of there. when it turned to 70 on the other side of the TN line, i was gone. i hit that left lane and was going 70 when i passed him still going 30.

he had the gawl to call in and tell them that and i made them pull the qualcomm log to see what i had to deal with for 25 miles. i still got reprimanded. what can you do................ suck it up and deal with it i guess.

I was getting some tire work done the other day at a country tire shop. Place was way out in the woods on a rough 2 lane road. It was about 11 am, and i noticed a deputy drive up, park about 50 feet away from the truck, and watch me and the tire changer for about 5 minutes. He finally got out of the car, walked up and asked if I was the truck driver. Yessir, i told him. He said he had gotten a call that the truck was weaving all over the road coming to the tire shop, and the driver appeared drunk, but he had been observing me, and I did not appear to be impaired. I laughed, told him I never drink, and had no idea what the caller was talking about.I had driven down that road as usual, no problem that I remembered. He said OK, and told me to have a good day as he left.

Yeah, the 800 numbers are bs. No recourse for you one they call.

However, with the help of a black sharpie marker and a steady hand, a 3 can become an 8, F an E, P a B, ect. on the ID number or 800 number in a matter of seconds. They can't call if they don't have the right number.

I did this to my truck at my old job and it went unnoticed.
