    hello to everyone,

people call me crow, short for crowley, my birth name. I am 55 years old a dislocated and unemployed construction worker here in South Carolina. Since the ecnomy whent to crap I cant buy a construction job here in SC,so I decided to try and do what i have always wanted to do and that is drive a tractor-trailer, I've taken what little money that i have saved when not paying bills to support my family and enrolled in cdl school, and starting my 2 nd week, and i must say it's been a eye opener. not just taking a driving test, but having to learn a lot of technical things. I'm holding my own a 90 average in class ,got my permit, and tanker endorsment. hoping to drive flatbed when finish school and any advice that you more experienced drivers can give will be greatly welcomed. T hanks for listening,be safe and god bless AMERICA.

Hi Crow1feather. Is that american indian?

I also joined the trucking industry after my 30 year land surveying career, similar to construction, was ruined by the banks and government.

Flat bed is a bit more work than most other trucking jobs... chaining loads, throwing tarps etc....

Keep us posted on your progress.
