...or pilot, flying J, petro, loves...

Most of the time I am the only other truck there when I fuel. Except yesterday there were 2 others in the lot. One was delivering gas, the other delivering food items for the convenience store part. Then there was me fueling. We had that lot so jam packed that the 4-wheelers were having trouble getting in & out.:biggrin_2559:

My favorite fuel stop doesn't accept any of the fuel cards...only cash or major credit card. They have some pretty good BBQ, though. Most of the places I frequent don't have more than 1 or 2 pumps with a satellite.

It is NICE to be appreciated when you're forking over a couple hundred bucks for fuel....and after you experience true customer service where the people behind the counter are happy that you are there, it just makes the big chains seem that much worse....to the point where you'll never want to go back to them if there's any way at all you can avoid it.

I'm usually just looking for somewhere to park, the rest doesn't matter too much. Not looking to get my ### kissed, just a shower and a place to sleep. Wherever lets me maximize my miles for the day is just fine. I'm out here to make money, not juvenile small talk with waitresses. Just my 2 cents !

    Speedemon1084 and RickG Thank this.

It can be a REALLY GOOD sign if you're parking in some places in the Bronx, Brooklyn, or Chester PA !! LOL

JimTheHut I usually go for 150 miles or more unless I'm delivering or P/U in a major metro area. Back to the OP to be honest there isn't really any tells on how safe T/S. I stopped a the T/S in Pratt,Ks on the 54 for the night thinking it was a reasonably safe place to park. Several truck there and such. Well in the span of 30 minutes I was approached by a lot lizard, a driver was robbed, and a O/O truck was hit. According to the local PD all by the same people. Luckily the driver was robbed lost only $40 and the O/O's truck didn't have any serious damage. No I did not avail myself of the services of the lot lizard. :biggrin_25522::biggrin_25522:

I've only got 100 gallon capacity. Most of my fill-ups are in the 60-70 gallon range. Don't really want/need much more than that on a day cab that is paid by the ton.:biggrin_25525:
