I told enough companies to take their "refresher" class and stick it. Yeah, things have changed a little bit in the industry since 1997, but they haven't changed that much. I was pretty much left to my own devices to figure them out after a week of running with a local trainer. He was ready for me to go solo that first day.

Another guy did the same thing here just from that same suggestion I made to him.

I think the whole thing is kind of stupid myself. I have an "ace in the hole" if all else fails with the wrecker company I used to work for part time. I talked to them a couple of weeks ago about their transport business. They said it was picking back up again and they would hire me on full time if I wanted to come back there.

They are good people and I would go there in a heart beat if I knew they could keep me in a tractor/trailer most of the time. But when things slow down they would have me in wreckers. Not that I am opposed to that but I really want to do OTR for now as a full time thing. Not just here and there.

But I am saving that jewel as back up back up, know what I mean?

Just talked to the terminal manager at Superior this morning. He had a second driver commit to training so it looks like things may speed up a bit. He told me to call him back this afternoon and he should have all the details worked out for me. Dates to take agility and DOT, start date, etc.

    Will update later this afternoon.

Finally! Seems like it's taken forever I know. I hope your start date comes soon after the physical and agility test.

My truck is going into the shop for a few weeks so they are looking for a spare one for me to drive in the mean time.

    Keep us posted.

LH said I was looking at about 2 weeks after physical and agility deal. I will wait to get the official word after passing these before I give my two week notice.

Will keep you posted. Actually I will give you a buzz later.
