    Hi one and all.

I've been researching for the last 5 months on different companies to get my CDL.

I've been going over different blog sites, and everyone always seems to have something bad to say about Every
trucking and training company. It's only normal.

I have talked with a few current SWIFT drivers Owners and Company drivers, None of them had anything bad to say about swift.

I do understand Sht tends to go wrong,It's a part of life :biggrin_25522:

    But Here is my question..

As a Noob starting out first time driver to get my CDL what do you think
    would be a good choice??
If it's not listed below please list with a comment.

Also I have a 6 lb dog I will be taking with me,So I am looking for a company who will allow pets .
Looking for a company that will pay/help pay for training

    DeBoer
    Swift
    CRST
    CR England
    PAM
    Stevens

Thanks for your Time. Safe Travels

CR England is promoting a zero tuition for 6 months of commitment. Starting, getting CDL and 6 months sound worth a go...

    Amie Thanks this.

    - I was going to say schneider... but the pet thing...

    - Look into community college, its pretty cheap to get a CDL and you'll do a lot of hours there, which will help you get a job quicker and better one...

    - Some swift drivers lied to you...

From what I have seen and heard. Swift might not be the worst company to start with.
CRE, is the very last place to ever consider, for good reason.

Amie, you might also consider, that being new. Having a pet with is not a very good idea.
You will be with a trainer for an indeterminate time period, depending on what company you choose. Also, you will be entering into a new environment yourself, and stress on you may manifest itself with your pet.

Pretty sure that no company is going to let you take a dog along with you during training. There are several that *may* let you take it after you have your training in. Also be aware that the pet deposits are large, and often nonrefundable.

    Amie Thanks this.

I read that CR England does not allow pets unless you lease a truck, does anyone know of a company other than Deboer/Werner that will Train and allow pets on commercial trucks (Vans) ie. Traktor/Trailer -- and not flatbeds - that have Terminals in both North Carolina and Texas -- preferrably Houston, TX ? -- The pet is a must, and I would REALLY not like to have to lease a truck... maybe in the future, but as a NEW driver, I am looking for experience and cash, I have been on unemployment since last November, and really need a career change, and do not want to be locked into a contract or lease. The doggie is 6 lbs, small and potty trained to go on pads =)

I understand that the pet might not be allowed until after training, but after training, it is a MUST!

Can anyone assist? -- 1 other person will be joining me after training for Co-Op Team driving long hauls, and would like as many miles with the highest pay as possible.... (again after training, without leasing a truck, we need to be able to take our beloved doggie with us)
