First off, my company is awesome. Primarily because I work here and I'm pretty awesome. You too could experience all that we have to offer. Send me a PM and I'll hook you up. But probably before then you should give Flatbed a try.
-
Because Flatbed rocks. (except in Russellville)

and tarping when its snowing and a billion degrees below zero or hot as the surface of te sun....no thanks...i like bumping docks and pullng reefers...still hoping miles pick up....although i did start looking at a small company out of Iowa....we will see if the power of red holds up....

I thought roehl announced they where going to combine reefer and van to better utilize the two fleets.
But as far as I can tell they haven't done it, I've pulled reefer about 6 times since they bought out blume
And ort trucking. Makes no sense to me, If a van driver is trained to do both reefer or dry van and runs and completes
The trips on time and with out constant hand holding by dispatch, then miles should not be lacking !!
I sometimes think dispatch runs a quota system trying to keep everyone right arond the same miles.
And when you get close to 2000 to 2200 the brakes seem to come on.

No Roehls reefer division is definately seperate from the others....even my digital checks look different...they all say roehl refridgerated on them in blue...just like the trailers.....i think roehl is trying to do what crete has done...delineate the divisions...keep them seperate for tax amd business reasons....
just like the brokerage is seperate from the truck side of the house....
It ddoesn't look lke a problem with miles.... its planning that sucks....they want to give you more time on load than is necesary....like 3 days for 500 miles....i think they figured out i can do an easy 1300 in 3 days though.....but my fm tried to micromanage so i can get my next preplan picked up and delivered....tried telling me where to park fo the night tonight rather than trust my judgement.... I don't think he understands that i spend a great deal of time map reconning areas especially when i cant park at the customer....i want to be as close to my delivery as possible...... thats where google maps comes in handy... -
Sounds like he is treating you as a NEW driver instead of a driver that transferred. Might want to have a come to Jesus meeting and let him know YOUR expectations versus his.
skyviper73 Thanks this. -
When I met him coming off the Van fleet I did explain to him...that I keep my left door closed and the hammer down....I don't like my time wasted...cause time is money in this job.....
I am with childs too on his point about miles....it seems I am going to have a great week...then all of a sudden here come the short runs with lots of time on the loads....I can easily do 3k a week on recap hours...I can push 3400 on full hours....with crack trip planning and no holdups along the way... -
Sitting at my cons which is a grocery warehouse....appt time was 0800...its a good thing I showed up at 0715 cause by the time I found a parking spot, stand in line and check in it was just about 0800
...good thing is...I overnighted near enough that my log didn't kick me to driving on my way here (my qc must do distance rather than speed cause I was doing 45)...so I am still on my break...maybe I can get a 34 while waiting at the docks...lol
-
My QC seems to do distance. I can go about 2 - 3 miles before it kicks me into driving.
