I would bring the other 7k and buy that guy out (or atleast try) ....also I wouldn't even tell the other guy what's going on I case he decides to grow a brain and screws you over ..good luck I hope it all works out .

......if the things get that messy, there is one last thing I could do........ my partner is applying for a US Citizenship next year. I could send a letter to the immigration, explaining that he is not a person with a good moral character and doesn't deserve to be an american citizen. I hate to do this, but if he is willing to go that bad.......

I would call the state the truck is registered/titled in, and let them know you have a financial interest in the truck. See if they can put a lien on it in your name. Or call a lawyer and see if they can make the call. I would also a draft an agreement stating that it was a combined purchase, and your business partner has 1 week or 2 weeks what ever you want to give him to pay the $7000. if not paid you pay him and take possession. and then do your best to get him to sign it. Just let him know your trying to work with him and be fair.

If he is applying for citizenship he is not illegal. He would have to be here on a legal work permit. Likely the same why your ancestors came to America.

And we wonder why the industry is headed where it's headed. So you and some zipper head you knew for all of a year decided to buy a truck together and go team, and it didn't work out. GOOD!!! I hope he also burns you for being such a great "friend". His moral character isn't in question but yours is!! He has just as much right to that truck as you, after all he paid his half. If you want to cut him out of the picture, you should sell the truck if you can't agree, and split the money.

my friend is here on a visa and has not be able to get a license (legally) and has applied for citizen ship and is in engaged to get married to an American citizen and is still unable to obtain a drivers license (legally) ..so there has to be some other was around it (apparently) ..the DMV said he can not obtain a drivers license with out having a green card or permanent visa..

The fact that you even have to ask just shows how much of a piece of work you are. You called the guy your friend, where I come from we don't burn friends by calling to snitch on them. Like I said the guy has just as much right to that truck as you. Take it as a lesson learned, take your money, and move on, why try and burn him when he didn't do anything wrong. In the least the two of you should agree to sell it, cash out, & move on. BTW I still hope he burns you!!!!! :)

Sounds like this business venture was done on a Saturday night after a 12 pack.
