Am im the only that makes cars scared when they pass me? Some will ride the ride the rumble strip all the way untill they pass me when im clearly not swerving or not close to the line. At times i ride my rumble strip to see what the car will do, and they still freak out. If the road has a slight curve in it...forget about it, some will look like they are running into the median, if they are 3 lanes they will take the hammer untill they pass me. I really dont get it i keep my eye on the trailer at all times especially when a car is passing me, and im never ontop of the line.

I usually only get it when I pass them... They will go over the line or almost ride the shoulder sometimes. Its pretty annoying because when they do that they end up being in my blind spot for most of the time I'm passing them.

Your lucky that they pass you. I usually have somebody that decides to ride right besides me. I don't know if there using me as a rolling shade tree or what.

It's your job as a professional to adjust your speed to minimize the time that you feel is a little unsafe. Maybe the sound from you hitting the strips might scare them or other sounds. I have found that the air dump for the dryer has an effect on small cars when they are passing and close to the air dump. I really haven't been in a spot that could have escalated into a problem even when I drove triples. So maybe it's your truck. I would guess at some point they are exposed to sound they are not used to. Maybe you have straight stacks and when their vehicle clears the trailer they hear a loud sound. The good part of all this is you are aware of the problem and can be ready for any reaction they might have.

your profile says student, does it say "student driver" any where on your truck. Even I leave a heck of a lot of room for those guys.

I need those banners when I am in Pittsburgh :). Then again... Some other driver was pissed at me and said I drove like a 4wheeler but I know the roads and he didn't want to get over so....

I would much rather have them riding the rumble strips on the shoulder, than to have them so close to me when I look down all I can see is the roof.

"at times I ride my rumble strip to see what they will do" .... that's part of your problem. Any time I hear rumble strip, I worry that vehicle is going to overcorrect and end up in my lane. I often see trucks who seem to not be aware of where center is. On interstates, simply drive center until someone is passing you, then move over a little closer to the fog line but not too far over, for safe measure. On 2 lane road, always run along the fog line when someone is behind you and perhaps wanting to pass so they don't have to get out into oncoming traffic to see around you.

Shoot, I can see the very good reason for drivers to give themselves as much room as possible between their vehicle and the vehicle they are passing. Just makes good sense as far as I'm concerned.
