the only comparison i can make between the two is you always have to watch out for the cars cause they don't see you in a truck or on a bike other than that it is nothing like the other

And it takes more skill to pop a wheelie in a semi than on a motorcycle.

I don't care what anyone else thinks but being a rider definately makes me more aware of road conditions and other users, you learn when your life depends on it! And I think my on-road bike experience helps me as does my racing experience. I welcome any challenge to that but I'm willing to believe there isn't too many ' stupid biker-truckers' here

If anything being a trucker makes you a safer rider. Not the other way around. I got my bike license after my cdl think that helps me that way.

Never thought of it that way but since you've stirred the idea isnt it possible that being a rider makes you respect the road while being a trucker makes you a proper driver, and maybe the combination makes you better?

i think everyone should have to ride a bike for 6 months before they are allowed to drive a car riding makes change that forces you to be an alert driver. Driving a tractor trailer is easy i dont get the arguements on how hard it is. i have years of experience doing LTL in san francisco and marin county no accidents. Will motorcycle cycle experience get you a job probably not mentioning how everytime you go for a ride someone tries to kill you and you are aware of it and are still alive could be a good thing the key point im trying to convey is our brains are trained to be more aware of our surroundings on a bike and that translates to making us riders more aware in any situation.

Yes I would agree. Then we seem to have come to an agreement we can now lock this topic. I took a course for th bike license and a lot of it was the same for that as the same for trucking.

I think driving a truck and riding a bike are very different, completely different skills but both type of skills educate you to the common dangers of the road, riders and truckers know how to read dangerous conditions better as well as how to predict the behaviour of stupid 4 wheeler drivers better
