Well, that is an option I am considering actually, but not sure where yet. I am not sure what I am going to do yet. I just know I am on my last legs OTR for long periods. My kids are getting to that age where they need me around on a regular basis. They need to do some more things then what my wife is willing to do with them, like Fish!! Well that could really be me needing to fish more often, but you get the idea..LOL.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Davis is the best of the worst, considering i don't think there's a good trucking company out there. With Davis you'll get home each week and make about 50k a year. I drive for them. They have their issues but the money and home time is good.
123456 Thanks this. -
You sound like you may be ready for a move to South Teaxs for a job in the oil patch. Get home every night, go fish the gulf on your days off. Get a tanker and hazmat endorsement, and twic card and you could tank some crude, get a tanker endorsement and tank some water. Experienced drivers are in high demand here.

our company is hiring.
We are home weekly and run regional. Been doing 2700+ miles per week. Pay is better than most companies in the area.
Located about 1 hour west of the Minneapolis Metro area in Minnesota. We get to the chicago area and Springfield MO daily with loads.
All 09 (soon to be 2010) and newer cascadia's. -
You'd need tanker AND hazmat for crude.

omg I can't beleive you would even consider N dakota. IT is the worst state. Winter on the prairie is no joke your kids would hate you so much.
Look into Texas. Austin and Fort Worth but the whole state is really a good place to live , no state income tax and low cost of living. Many jobs in trucking are intra state and Texas is like a whole country in of itself. -
try getting out of FL all together, I used to live down there, and moved to Dallas, TX area, no issues during the recession. And jobs a plenty. I don't recommend living in Dallas, but just outside the metroplex is great.

Well if you move to Texas look into Southeastern Freight Lines. They have quite a few terminals scattered around. Last I heard is that they are growing extremely fast in Texas and always looking for drivers.
I live in Eastern NC and driving jobs seem plentiful over here. The closer you go to Raleigh the better chances you have of finding something local. -
Southeastern has a terminal in Sherman TX, runs NE TX, Oklahoma, and Arkansas I believe. We don't run local
