Once again I sit at a truck stop over the weekend. This is becoming a pattern.. I can see if I was in BFE and nothing around for miles, but I am sitting in Gary Indiana, at the TA .. Chicago is close-by, are you telling me that they have nothing going out? Looking around the parking lot, I see 15 of our trucks sitting and idling.. people are getting pissed off, myself included. No wonder that they have the huge turnover rate, talking to several drivers out here and other lots that we seem to live in, so many are fed up. Why keep hiring if you don't have the work for us?

Got to get a new job... Moving to Delaware, any suggestions?

I would say they keep hiring to replace the drivers that get mad enough about living in truck stops on the weekend that they leave.

Its a starter company. 99% of companies that take someone with no experience are going to have a high turnover rate.

For God's sake they start you out at 22 cents a mile split, make you team,
and then have you sitting a lot? Yeah, that would definitely explain the turnover. Good luck my friend, there really is no where to go but up once you decide to bail out.

See this is what I don't get CRST is suppose to be a team company but don't have the miles.I've asked the same question a million times, why keep hireing when u can't even keep the drivers in miles.Of course dispatch or anyone else could care less, they just ignore you when u ask them.

i've asked that question a million times with each company I goto. Why do they hire so many drivers if they have no work? The only explanation that makes sense is government incentives to hire people. Whether that's true or not, I'm not sure.
