    anyone done it?

the price of a motel is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overboard. so i'm thinking of taking the truck. looking for a flatbed load going to and out of sturgis or somewhere around. there are two truckstops in rapidcity, pilot and loves i beleive was the other. i would sleep in the semi.

all i need now is a way to pack the bike.

    suggestions please.

I wouldn't count on finding a parking space at the Pilot or Love's

I've delivered many times during the sturgis rally. Not alot of bikes campers ect camp out at the Pilot.I have never had trouble finding a parking spot there.I heard rooms and camp sites are way overpriced during sturgis..Who's going to be performing there this yr?

ummmm, for starters. i'm just one man. i can't lift the bike myself. and #2. loads usually take up the whole flatbed. doesn't leave any room for the bike.

    so hmmmmmmmmmm. makes me wonder.

and we'll be there 3 days before the big week.

find a load that doesnt take up the whole deck and use a loading dock to load it up,back up to it and ride it on,most towns or rail yards have one out in the open
