Bringing their stuff from Canada has been legal for years. If you want to be p-o-ed, get p-o-ed at the people buying it from them, instead of buying their products in the US.

Dispatchers have little say in a drivers sleep, if your tired... by all means sleep... turn off your phone. hang the goofy Qual-Com out the freaken window... whatever it takes.
Drivers have a brain, they can stop when tired. Is it too much to ask a driver to use their head?
Would I earn more? Perhaps a little more... but that isn't the point. I would use my head and decide if it was worth it. (ie how much more in taxes would I pay for running the extra load a day... or the 3 or so a week?) Is it worth it? Probably not. Is it worth not getting a ticket or being put out of service for not drawing a line correctly or a adding error? I think so. Remember, we need to be perfect in out paperwork accounting... Does law enforcement have to be perfect in their paperwork? -

Yes, they do keep the rates down, by running loads illegally for the same rate it takes to run them legally. If you're going to be illegal, at least take lessons from true criminals and make good money for the risk, instead of being amateurs.Click to expand...
1) I didn't know it was a competition.
2) If you don't want to work that hard... Simple, don't.
3) If someone wants to work hard, is it really your business?
4) If the company does acquire better paying loads, whom do you think will be rewarded with them. The guy that doesn't want to work hard... or the guy that wants to work. Yup, sounds like the hard worker IS the amateur to me, good grief. -

Ask those guys from up north how they like the 105 kph speed limiter law. I know pq and ont only the area right across the border from me. The Canandian government is more like the european deal. And how about health ins there carriers don't have to build that cost into the rates I do .
I've gone up there and hauled for there rates. To many miles to little money. Your right I don't get out much I stay close to home and around here the Canadians hurt rates. The other border will be even worse that's all I'm saying .Click to expand... -

Been there done that. Ate the dope, dodged the scales, drew lines where they were needed. I got lucky and survived, some freinds did not.
People whine and cry about their carriers pushing them so hard. What do you think it would be like without the regs?
If you don't like the rules, get out of the game. Although, I have serious doubts that you are even in the game. -
Rules like once you started you day, your on your 14 even though you may have wait times. Thus have to follow this rigid timeframe... I'm talking about using your head and working hard.... NOT being an idiot popping pills. Again, the carrier cannot FORCE you to do anything... if tired, by all means.... rest.
