So, we should dump free market principles, the whole basis of our economy?

Hos. Elogs. Csa. Just a bunch of crap the government is shoving
down drivers throats. As an O/O for years we never had problems
with logs until some bleeding heart group had someone killed by
a truck then the government stepped in and started messing with
things that they knew nothing about. I dont and wont run elogs
in my trucks. elogs was a punishment to companies that failed
dot company inspections originally but somehow the government
weasled in and along with the help of the not so wonderful
ATA got elogs into companies. I do believe werner was the first
to use it on a trial basis. Jmo

Also on a side note, I have no problem driving 800+ miles a day, why should I be penalized because others can't drive 500 and not run over someone. I only sleep about 6hrs a night, Why sit witha finger in my b-hole for another 4hrs waitiń for this little computer to tell me I am safe to drive again? And for the nay Sayers, I run a reefer so just about a day or 2 a week is waisted picketing up and delivering anyway, to bad all that is over, (for now) . Last trip out with the elogs and then daddy is getting a real job!

Why sit for 4 hours you can split and only need to sit another 2?

Yes I agree but elogs or our digi tachos are not the answer, your log books if managed correctly are a better option! I live with these things every day, back when the fines were small I would be home 3 days a week with 30% more pay! Now I could spend my weekend an hours drive from home and get no pay, do you think that's quality time? Or even if it's a wayto spend your time off? I'm not getting on your case here but I'm telling you my experiences of living with these things!

Of course not but sometimes one rule doesn't fit all, your logbooks give a little leaway , elogs give the attoritories even more chances to relieve you of money, I know I've been there, I know if everybody had your intelligence there would be no need for such measures but education would also be a better tool as well as hitting dispatchers with fines if found to be pressuring drivers

So you want to split while you should have been showing line 4? Like it used to be a driver was expected to log sleeper or off duty so the company could make you work longer. You don't see a problem with that?

    Scania man Thanks this.

Your log book is your paycheck.( when you r elog ) Why log anything you are not getting paid for. I never use a split unless some multi stop bs and gotta make next apt. ( well now anyways since got elog) and what do u mean wrk longer? Every minute out on road s work. At least of you.are driving , you are getting paid.
