I just bought the crossfire brand of pressure equalizers to try on the tractor. Got a good deal on them and I want to try them out before I buy for the trailer.

They came from the Michelin retread plant in 2011, so I am thinking that if Michelin deemed them OK in 2011 that they're fine in 2012. Still had the Michelin plant stickers on them. So far they've been great and have had a full load on them several times. You're right though, a lot of times really cheap caps will be marked down due to deteriorated / old casings. I just got lucky and found a good deal (for once).

Got four Michelin XTA-1 trailer caps for $1,012 out the door, including casing charge. I sent mine in for retreading and will get them back for $165 each otd. If these trailer caps work out ok, I may consider trying their drive recaps.

Do you mind posting how much you paid for them? Have 19.5's on a trailer that is a pain to try to check pressures on. The 22.5's on the truck aren't bad to check, but would be nice as well to have them on all four axles pending how much they cost. Have seen the Cats Eye systems on ebay in the lower $200 mark for each axle. *I think*

Cat's Eye 4-pack w/ss hoses for 22.5 was just over $300 shipped from Stengel Bros. back in November. Enough to do two axles. Probably not the cheapest, but they had the most complete and legit looking website. Order came fast and was exactly what I ordered, both times.

How long will it take to get them back with new caps on - several weeks? I want to cap my drives in another year or so and was thinking it might be a good idea to plan some significant down time..

7 days. Recap day for Norcross is Wednesday. My tires will be on tomorrow's truck to the plant. If no issues, they'll be coming back on that truck next Wednesday. He said once in a while they get off schedule but not often.
