    On june 9th I will be heading to TX
    from vermont to find work in the oilfields I have 3 years under my belt dose anyone know some good places to start looking I do not have my haz just tanker

    its a good thing you haven't left yet dont think your going to just pull up with a truck and make $2,000 a day it wont happen one of my customers called and said they had some good work coming up well two weeks ago they called to tell me about it pays $1,000 a day on a flatbed loads of pipe out of houston 5 days a week and when you drop you head back 350 miles one way so in my world thats $1.42 a mile so if you want that come and get it

    Alan Ritchey, Inc. is a multi-industry company that provides services to the government, industrial, agriculture energy and transportation sectors. We have been serving other businesses for over 40 years. We have immediate openings for 5 experienced tanker drivers in the S. Texas area who are a minimum of 23 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivilent, who possess at least one year of verifiable tanker experience as well as a class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements. Other requirements include a clean MVR, no felonies or DWI's within the past 7 years and a willingness to meet or exceed expectations in a demanding profession. These driver opportunities will be based out of the Dilley area of S. Texas. Driver work weeks will generally consist of 4 days on, 2 days off (may also be 6 and 1 or 5 and 1) , with 12 hr shifts either beginning 6PM, ending at 6AM- most starting positions will be for night shift. Drivers are normally home every day with limited over night travel. Job duties will consist of test and measuring oil and driving from field locations to pipeline injection points. We offer a superior compensation package, bonus program, benefits and all of our tractors are late model Peterbilts. These are local positions and drivers will be expected to live in the area or relocate and possess transportation to and from work. Temporary housing (30-60 days) may be provided if arranged through the hiring manager.
    * $5,000.00 sign on bonus paid out over your first year of employment
    * Competitive Pay (Once you are in your own truck .90 per loaded mile, plus .23 cents per barrel, after 60 days rate per barrel goes to .24)

    This position requires travel to customer sites with nitrogen services equipment to purge lines and perform various duties, both in and out of state. Frequent travel with the ability to work variable schedule (including nights and weekends), 40 hour pay is guaranteed. The position requires 10-20% driving, while 80-90% of the work will be working as an Operating Technician/Mechanic to operate and maintain equipment in peak operating condition. There will be times during slow periods that techs will be on call at home.
    Technicians will be required to commit to working either a schedule of 16 days on/4 days off or 8 days on/2 days off. Technicians will often be on the road the duration of their scheduled shift, working 12 hour days, depending on available work. There is typically significant overtime due to long stretches of continuous days worked. Technicians can opt to work their scheduled days off for an increased rate of pay. There will be on call responsibilities while working at home or home terminal. Individuals will support customers at their site, operating specialized, state-of-the-art equipment and respond to emergency calls.

    Job Requirements:
    * High School diploma/GED
    * Class A CDL with Tanker and HazMat endorsements
    * Experience driving and maneuvering heavy equipment along with a clean driving record
    * Must be willing to work rotating shift or split shift as customer demands change
    * Have scheduling flexibility
    * Often get called the same day to get to a customer as soon as you can safely arrive and perform the customer job
    * Rapid response similar to firemen except you get on a plane and are sometimes gone for over a month
    * Often asked to work through days off, which come every 16 days, which means you can work more than one month straight with no days off
    * Extensive time away from home
    * On call when not on days off, so you cannot plan anything that would interfere with a call in.
    * Strong mechanical or I&E background
    * Good people skills/direct customer interface
    * Commercial Driver's License and Mechanical Aptitude Required.

    $85,000 to carry pipe in Texas.......but the unemployment rate is sky high.......wonder if people REALLY WANT TO WORK.......all these jobs in the oil field despite OBAMA AND HIS CRONNIES.

    I bet they are working on PRIVATE TEXAS LAND! Plus Texas and N. Dakota still tell the feds to piss off......everybody else just loves the free ride.

    The east texas fields have slowed down a bit....maybe theybare picking up too.
