As long as I am driving above the minimum required speed, I will remain on the interstate. Feel free to pass me. And I will be disappointed if you don't tell me I'm number one as you do. The more single finger salutes I get, the better. LOL

    ironpony Thanks this.

If there were such laws, youd be in a heap of trouble.

What I don't get about Prime leases is why would you basically rent a truck for $1000 a week when you can buy one for about $1500 a month? $4000 a month and never own the truck? That's insane.

You're comparing apples and oranges. That $1500 only covers the payment and interest.

My lease payment covers insurance, federal highway tax, base plates, permits, health insurance, occupational accident insurance, basic accounting service - as well as the truck payment and a payment for the APU. You can add all of that onto your $1500 - and come much closer to what I pay for my lease.

On top of that, my tractor is covered with a bumper-to-bumper warranty for nearly the life of the lease - and at least Freightliner knows where their bread is buttered on that. At the end of three years what do you have? An even more-broken down old truck that much closer to a mighty big in-frame expense. I get a new truck.

And don't forget... every one of those lease payments is tax-deductible.

Now that may not be your cup of tea, but there are advantages going the lease route too. It can't be all bad... some of America's largest and most successful transportation companies do the same thing. Ever hear of United Airlines? Do you think they own one stinking airplane? Every last one is leased.
