97 379 Peterbilt headlights

    Good morning
    i have a 97 379 in california, when i turn on my headlights my rear bumper tailights come on too, i guess thats to keep dumb people from forgetting to turn on marker lights..... how do i change this? I only want my headlights to come on when i turn on my headlights.... i have many reasons for doing this but wont get into that

    There is probably several posts on the headlight switch. Just pull them off 1 at a time until you find the 1 you are looking for.

    Thanks ... i think theres more to it cuz only one wire gets power when i turn on headlights

    Maybe check at the junction box and see of they wired the bumper lights to the headlight circuit at that point.

    I also have a 379 1995 pete and I would not touch a thing in the wiring. That could be a factory thing because I get close to the same results from my headlight switch and I was told it is fine. Watch your alternator gauge will tell you if there is a problem.

    Alternator gauge? Whats that do for turning on only my headlights without some of the marker lights coming on? Please explain in case im ignorantj

    Would love to know if somebody can point me in the right direction... spent some time lookin for junction box but havent found anything

    There is no junction box its all tied together in the cab and splits at the left side of the cab firewall what problem are you having?

    Not having a problem.... just doing ag work and i need to be able to have headlights work independently of marker lights
