What fun it has been trying to get hired on by Roehl. I took my physical 5/14/2012. They let me know on 5-22 that I needed a dr's release to work (I had major surgery in January) I already had this so I sent it to them. well that took until 5/25 to let me know that was o.k. Now they needed a letter stating that I was not on pain killers. O.k. I use the Vet Hospital in Richmond Va. I called and left a message with my primary Dr. They called me yesterday (va hosp) and told me letter was ready and they were going to mail. I had them read it to me and it was not what was wanted.
They redid the letter and I drove an hour and a half to get it (3 hrs total). I sent it right to Roehl and still no word and I have called and emailed. This is 17 days....HELLO :biggrin_2551:

I called schneider last friday. Had physical and drug test (Pee and hair) this past tuesday. They called today and have me set up to head to Charlotte Monday. Ok that is 6 days total with a 3 day weekend

If any of you know the upper people I would love to talk to them and let them kow they have to be loosing drivers to crap like this.

My recruiter has been great.....It's the "health dept" :biggrin_25523:

Don't pin your hopes on Roehl. It works for some as you see by the same posters...but for others it has been a looooong ride with little shown respect or professionalism from those I directly work with. Well almost, Joe & Joe are pretty jam up and they get me...it's those FM's before & night/weekend crews that'll make you cringe thinking you have to deal with them.

I have been shown more respect and honored with a certificate and a jacket from those that have never met me, spoke to me or probably even know my name from analyzing my on time production/safety/fuel-idle conservation that they've seen probably in a quarterly printout.

There is a significant difference in recruiting between Roehl and Schneider. Roehl has two recruiters who actually work for Roehl as paid staff members. Schneider hires a third party to do its recruiting and pretend they're employees. They also recruit a ton of drivers. There will probably be 30 people in your class. Roehl never has more than 6. In addition, the two companies are vastly different in size. You're trying to compare apples to pumpkins.

    Good luck with Schneider.

Hi I am trying to find out about the Schneider run they say they have a 2 week on 1week off run that i can get after school and the other otr they offer is 2 weeks out and 2 days off seems to me you would make a little more with 2weeks on 2 days off but not that much more only bad thing is slip seating but the days off seem nice whats your input on this?

Why not ask this in a Schneider forum? This is the Roehl forum.

Of course Roehl wants new drivers. I was a trainer for seven years. I think I only spent two weeks out of that seven years without a student. I wouldn't be surprised if they want a certain percentage of their drivers at a rookie pay scale. If they have to choose between two rookies and all things are equal except one has some medical stuff going on. They will take the one without the medical issues. Chances are a rookie is going to mess up a truck they don't want the added expense of the health issues.

My health issues are in the past. To take over a week with the "medical review" and get them the letter that I am not on pain pills and that has still not been o.k. When I left hospital beginning of Jan I left without pain pills. Another fellow I went to school with it has been 2 weeks since his physical and he has been calling and still no answer and he has no medical issues. I think upper management would like to know this and that is all I was getting at. I do thank all of you for the replys!!
