Vacation time. You know the rates when up cause of this. Lot of drivers took the 72 hour vacation just to avoid the hassle.

Anybody else notice that there are not as many checks going on this year as last year? Sure allot of the ones that have been open (and many have been closed) are inspecting trucks. But they are just doing the regular 1 or 2 at a time. Only place I have seen so far that is doing the big 10+ trucks at one time is west bound I-70 in KS just past kanas city.

And its acualy kinda funny becouse I pull into that one and stop at the officer that is at the front of the line thinking he is going to tell me where to park and he just waves me on threw. So I start to head out, But then he hops behind me in his cruiser with his lights on pulling me over before I get 300 feet past him. At this point in time I am thinking I messed up and he did not wave me threw put waved me to the side. I roll the window down to see what was up and he asked me if I was running a radar dector (which I dont). I tell him no and he says as I was going past his radar detector detector was going off very strongly and I had to have one in my truck. Again I assured him I did not have one but I did have many electronics that did emit signals, My phone, my GPS, my Radio, my satilite radio, my prepass, my data card, my E-log transponder. He asks if he can take a look and I say sure. So I hop out and he climbs in and looks around for a littlebit then climbs back out and says sorry to waste your time.

I can say I survived w/o one check. a few roll across the scale due to heavy load, but wow. I even thought fer sure theyd at least like to look at the book. Oh well.
Even every scale that i went thru had a few trucks around back. only one i can remember had several.
