O/O Queston.......

    No doubt the patch will pay more. There are upsides and downsides to both. On highway you can set more of a schedule than you would in the patch, although there are oilfield companies that keep to a somewhat schedule. Some are when they call you go no matter when they call. Not all oilfield companies hire o/o as they have enough of there own trucks to try to keep busy.

    I worked in the patch to make money.
    Whenever some said my rates were high, I'd tell them that I already had friends, I was here to make money.

    Oilfield trucks are heavy spec trucks for the most part. Big power, big rearends 4.33/4.11s, duel lockers, double frames, heavy bumper/tow hooks, big headache racks for all the needed rigging etc.

    Although you are correct in part, there are lots of trucks that are regular spec'ed trucks.

    Nice specs!!!! The 57 mph,9 mpg freight hauler crowd would have a reality check.
