They start orientation on a Tuesday in Indy? Seems odd.
Good luck, Schneider sounds lile one of the better companys out there. -
My husband is currently waiting to hear back from them. He just "graduated" from TDI in South Bend, Indiana, and one of the recruiters told him to fill out an online app for a regional position. We are hoping he will start really soon-like Tuesday. That would be great! Maybe he will see you there-good luck and let us know how it goes and what to expect-it helps alot! (So does this forum).

Hope everything works out for you guys,
Helpin Him W/His Dreams and paul_4lp Thank this. -

The six on / three off sounds good though!scoutsoutwalt Thanks this. -
How much did they say he would make regional? I am outside of Indy myself..

Well, no one ever called to come in on Tuesday, so just shy of the 48 hour "we'll call you back" wait time, we called them. Guy on phone told my husband that they were looking over his paperwork still and decided to schedule a phone interview with him which is supposed to be taking place as we speak. Still waiting. Super excited! Husband lost his voice the other night-this oughta be fun! Will post more when we know what's going on. As far as what he would make regional, we haven't actually heard for sure from the actual company, so to speak. Giving the recruiter the benefit of the doubt though, he said 29 cents a mile starting out, (19 cents of that perdiem), after 6 months, goes up to 33 cents per mile, then one year, to 35 cents a mile. Hope this helps! We live just down the street from ProFleet and went and talked with them, too. Met the owner and his son. Son took us out to show us a semi, showed us his Dad's (REALLY clean and nice inside-smelled good, too!) I was really impressed with how nice everyone was and very small hometown feel. Said they do have training for newbies wanting to do flatbed, something relatively new. We would like to get experience before attempting flatbeds, but the location can't be beat!
C'mon SNI! CALL!!!

SNI called! My husband has to go in for a drug test this week and then off to Wisconsin next week. I thought that was weird since Indy is closer. I am VERY proud to say that my huband's many years of experience driving everything from dump/snow plow trucks, recycling trucks, duallies with 53' trailers (hauling golf carts) to street sweepers has paid off-they are going to start him out at 36 cents per mile!!!! We are so excited! Now we can pay off his schooling much sooner. I know a lot of posters out there are promoting NOT going to a truck driving school, but I am glad my husband did. He tried many times on his own to go and get it himself (his Class A) and failed. After taking the schooling, he knew he never would of passed on his own, knowing what little he did. Schooling was definitely the way to go for us. Had we known, we would of just saved the hundreds of dollars for schooling...I know, I know-hindsight is foresight blah, blah, blah.....
Now I just have to get over the nightmares you guys gave me about Greyhound buses!

Congradulations!!
So because of his experience he is making the 32cents a mile? I am looking at Sni as well. Because I am retired Military, the VA will pay for my school and while I am driving, the first year I will get an extra $1400.00 or so a month free. On top of the pay. After one year, I can go with a higher paying company... Keep us updated on his journey, if you could!!
