Hi all,
I'm considering a career change and am thinking about hitting the road. I'm sure I'll be asking questions you've all heard a hundred times before, but I'll be doing some reading to see what I can learn.
I've got a friend who has been driving for 3 years and we've talked about it some. Today I met him and we took a short drive in his truck. I was intrigued.
While I do value his insight, I thought I'd look for an online forum like this to get other opinions.

I've been talking about leaving my current place of employment for awhile now. We've talked about this a few times over the last several months and driving has come up every time. Today was the first time I was able to get together with him and check out his rig. He said he loves his job.
If I pursue this path, I'd probably be going through a college training program sometime in August or September after I get back from vacation.
My question to others is, 'Would you do it again?' If you were looking at starting over, would you do this again?
I know that things vary between companies so there is no 'one size fits all' answer. Are health benefits and retirement plans generally offered? What about time off? -
I only have a couple years... but yes I would do it again, just a few good years sooner.
Polaris Thanks this. -
That's good to hear. I'd thought about it when I was much younger but pursued other choices. Now I'm looking to leave what I've been doing for the past 9 years. I talked to the school today and it looks like I'd probably be starting in late August. They said I could start on June 25th, but that won't work for me.
