Covenant Transport

I really hope this was supposed to be something like 80,000 with no decimal....I'll assume we're talking 80k miles, not dollars.

Just as an aside, I was picking up a load the other day, and was looking at a magazine from 2007 (yup...they don't change 'em out much...). Anyway, there was a little blurb in the magazine about how Covenant had agreed to no longer require new hires to sign a paper stating that they would not file for workers compensation in the event of an injury on the job. I don't remember hearing about this, but knowing the way Covenant does business, it didn't surprise me. .

 

Companies don't see it that way at all. To them it's the shippers that keep them in business. To them The driver is just a tool, Like a truck or trailer, to be had for the least expense possible then discarded the moment it starts to require too much maintenance.

Should have been a clue that told you to RUN! If they are willing to put your life and limb in danger from the get go why did you think it would not be all downhill from there?

 

20 per cent mileage shortage does seem excessive even if they use HMG miles. Stick the year if you can and leave. If you keep a clean MVR and DAC you will have little trouble finding a better home than Covenant. Be careful on how you terminate so they cannot load crap on your DAC.

 

80,000.01 miles would of made a large difference, don't you see that! Gotta be exact around here, down to the hundreths at least.

 

That .01 matters... That is 1/2 a penny we're talking about. It's very important, especially with that 1\2¢ yearly raise!

 

Do you have documentation to substantiate that you drove 100k plus miles and were compensated for 80k miles? I am waiting with anticipation for you to post every bit of evidence you have.
