You must be 1 of the LUCKY 1s. i was there for a year..and that was about 6 months to long..i did the per allince deal.did ok on that.did the allince leasing at first did ok on that till stevens sold my 387 pet out from under me..and put me in a new 660..truck pay ment went from 500 a week to 800..after that it was all down hill...it was hard to make money when you are sitting and wasting time i would run about 2000 to 2500 miles a week....witch is a joke!and to make matters worse i went home 5 times that year. after i left i went to Knight.. first week put down 3000 miles. and took home over 1000$ in my pocket!!! in the year i was there at Knight thay messed up my pay 3 times...stevens was also allways shorting me every outher paycheck i had to fight with them..also i got home about every outher week for Knight.. Knight even got me back to stevens yard to get my gear out of stevens long turm storage..Even had to fight with Adrin wheeler to get my stuff back...theres a reason that on yr year ann date stevens gives you a REALY nice duffel bag... USE IT!!! hit the road with it and find a real trucking out fit..Unless u want to train ...then i would stick it out there. but solo? NO!

So Sorry to hear that - If I had to guess - I would say that your husband was an Alliance Lease Driver or He had some back payments due for cash advances.
My husband and I also drove for Stevens Transport for the past 4 years - my husband recently quit due to not making enough money as well.
We were team drivers and did well enough as a team with an average of 3500 miles a week for the total truck miles - when I got off the truck his mileage dropped to about 1900 miles a week and by the time he ate and purchased misc supplies needed he was bringing home about $800 a month clear before taxes. This went on for 1 1/2 years and finally we couldn't afford for him to stay any longer. We talked to them until we were blue in the face - it would get better for a week or two and then right back to the same stuff. We are leased drivers thru their Alliance program.
Since leaving he has not been able to find a job -Steven's Transport simply doesn't seem to respond to the prior driving history that is needed by the new companies (federal law) to get an offer. He gets calls and does everything he can has has had two offers but in the end they say they can't wait any longer for his prior history and must hire someone else.
In case you are wondering - no - he didn't have any accidents - didn't have any bad scores on the new CSA2010 system thing I think he has a 0 score when is the best you can get and only got one speeding ticket in California for going 40 mph down the side of a mountain - posted speed limit was 35 mph which will fall off in a couple of months. He was empty at the time.
Steven's begged him not to go - and said he could come back anytime - if he did so within 90 days they wouldn't even require additional training.
I think this is the norm for most big companies - promise the world and give you a grain of sand.

I call BS on that one.
I don't think you can get your payment up to $800 per week at Stevens if you had a gold plated Pete!
Right now, you can have a brand new Pete for $680...and that also includes a KW700 or the new KW680's.
You sound like another person that didn't fit at Stevens, but won't admit you might have been at least partially at fault.
I get tired of hearing people tell these wild stories, pump up the numbers to make themselves look good.
So since you inflated the payment, may we assume you inflated the pay from Knight?! :biggrin_25521:

    TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.

I had the same thing happen when i went over to Knight.Stevens would not say 1 way or the outher that i worked there..But The Head safety guy at corporate let me roll but told me if any thing poped up that i was not honest about that i would be fired on the spot!...i quit Night after working there 1 year. I now work for JB Hunt...JB did not have any issue getting my dac from stevens or Knight...For an Over the Road trucking i realy liked working for Knight. I dont do over the road any more...working for JB is Not bad i am home every night i work on a DCS account the money is good but like stevens i have to watch a lot of videos and do some classes but at least JB pays you for them.

Bottom line STEVENS TRANSPORT is not a trucking company!!!!! IT is a TRAINING COMPANY!!!!!! if you want to train stay there..if you want to make money solo IE NOT TRAINING go some where else!!!! KNIGHT JBHUNT INTERSTATE GORDONS SCHNEIDER...1 real difrence compared to stevens all have multiple terminals in multiple states...get yr xp with stevens then get out.you will make more money and not wast a lot of yr time...thats what i did and do not regret any thing outher then staying with stevens about 6 months to long

Like I mention before I already have my CDL class A with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements. If I decide to go with Stevens, do I have to sign a contract with them???? and how long I have to stay with them??? can I leave after a year with them???? And if I decide to stay with them, how can I make more money????? Do you have to become a trainer and a alliance To make more money???? Just some questions that I have..... :)
